ELSE ABRAHAMSEN is an interior architect MNIL with a MA from Konstfack in Stockholm and is the founder of MakersHub. She has a highly professional approach to participatory methods, and has experience from similar projects in the districts of Stovner and Bærum Municipality. Else’s primary focus is that everyone should be treated with dignity, regardless of background, culture or status. She is particularly interested in developing her field of interior architecture to take social responsibility towards modern world challenges.

JACK HUGHES is an architect from Northern Ireland. He studied at the Glasgow School of Art and AHO, Oslo, and has worked in Belfast, London and Oslo, recently settling Norway. He has won numerous awards for his work with urbanism and sustainable design and has a particular interest in using architecture to encourage cohesion in diverse urban communities. He believes that by designing and building collaboratively, with residents and local organizations, will result in spaces that are not only functional and beautiful but also give a sense of ownership and belonging.

KARAM KIFAH THANOON came to Norway in September 2015 after having fled Mosul, Iraq. Makers’Hub connected with him through the projects on Torshov Transit reception and he became part of the team with his skills as a craftsman, translator and problem solver. He is a graduate physics teacher, and enjoys working with his hands, performing tasks to perfection. He has a special interest in teaching and working with children and young people. Karam is now living in Oslo and is a student at the governmental introductory program.

MARIA ÅRTHUN is a master student at AHO and works as an architect in TAG Architects. For several years in various caring professions, she has learned the importance of putting the user in the driver's seat and listen to others' needs and experiences. She believe it is through meeting with others and cooperation that we can create magic! Marias work won a prestigious award in the competition “Place and Displacement: A marketplace in a refugee settlement” with their proposal for the Womenz Bazaar in Za'atari refugee camp in Jordan.

IDA BERGLI WOLD is a trained interior architect with BA from Griffith College in Dublun. She has also studied Art and Design and Art in Society ath the University of Oslo. She believes that the ambience aesthetics affects quality of life, and that users can help to create a sense of belonging and identity. This attitude helps foster good relations between people, and these are the relationships that connect people to places.
